    “Life is Music”

-Evan Boehm

Evan Boehm’s love for music started early on in his life--sitting down at the old Casio keyboard he had at home, exploring the different sounds, beats, and timbers. It was the catalyst for his musical world starting to open up. Evan grew up in northern Kentucky and moved to Toledo, Ohio at around 11 years old. He didn’t have a musically inclined family nor a formal teacher during his early musical journey, so he would turn to online resources to teach him harmony, rhythm, and other musical lessons. Once he reached high school, he surrounded himself with peers of similar interest. Music production and performance started becoming the focus. He joined the marching band sophomore year and became familiar with the marching arts instrumentation, specifically the drums which were called the “battery” of the ensemble. He played snare, tenor drums, bass drum, and even synthesizer. This, along with participating in the concert band and jazz band, helped cultivate and elevate a lot of skills with performing in and with an ensemble. He also independently formed a handful of small groups which informally would get together and either perform music in the hallways during free time or jam together in the band room. During his time in high school, he also put his energy towards starting to release his own music. In 2020, he released his first album “Two Sides To Everything” which included tracks created much earlier and newly formed tracks just written for the record. His second album “Tintinnabulation” was released a year later and was much more electronic focused. It also had more of a cohesive theme and feeling to it in his opinion. His third album came out in 2022 and again went in a different direction than the last two. “Branches” was centered around Evan’s struggle to find himself musically and personally. The album’s experimental and rap-inspired music presents a collective of interesting sounds and lyrics that sometimes require more than one listen. That album also ends with his longest song yet, the almost 22-minute track, “A Billion Trees Pass My Eyes” which is a narrative of his life so far in his own eyes. After high school, Evan went on to study Commercial Music Production at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Here, he continues to expand his musical palate with a multitude of courses ranging from entrepreneurial to songwriting courses taught by the very best professors in the industry. During this time, Evan began to become more involved within Audio Engineering both live and within the studio. After playing the synth in the Bearcat Bands (marching band) at the University for two years, he was promoted to lead sound engineer because of his background in music production. Currently, Evan is finishing up his education at the Conservatory while working as a sound engineer in the fall for the band while also working on his fourth studio album with a compilation of his best music yet written at none other but the Conservatory of Music which is soon to be released.
